A global brokerage firm is currently seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Associate Controller to join its Valuation group. All interested candidates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of the Associate Controller include:

• Performing valuation oversight for exotic and illiquid derivatives held in strategies managed by the Investment Management business
• Interacting with management and investment professionals in managing a multi-strategy investment portfolio

• Verifying prices of positions held in the portfolios- specifically variance swaps, inflation linked interest rate products, credit default swaps or total return swaps on illiquid emerging market debt
• Assisting in the development of a valuation and price verification framework for newly traded derivatives; in conjunction with IT and portfolio management
• Assisting in the review and reconciliation of performance- specifically those strategies which hold exotic or illiquid derivatives such as emerging market, credit or volatility strategies
• Preparing management reports and analysis to assist portfolio management and finance managers in managing and understanding the business

• 4+ years of relevant work experience (public and/or private)
• Solid understanding of valuation methods for complex derivatives including variance swaps, credit default swaps, and inflation linked interest rate products
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to interact with and present to management
